Beautiful Crescent Lake

Whether hiking, fishing, swimming, or boating on or around Crescent Lake, it is impossible to ignore its beauty. The lake was named by James P Howley around 1879. Local fishermen have named all the coves or bottoms, to make it easy to get to the best fishing spots. You will hear names like SouWest Bottom, Sand Shaft Bottom, Muskrat Brook, Frenchman’s Hill, The Pine Path, Chip Point, Crusher Bottom, Apsy Bottom. Anthony’s Bottom, South Brook, The Horse Feeder, Mine Bottom, The Nars, The Depot, and The Steady. There are three places to launch a boat on the lake, one at the Horse Feeder, one a the RV Park, and one down Tommy’s Arm Road.
